Espresso House was established in 1996 when the founders Charles and Elisabet Asker opened the first coffee shop on Kyrkogatan in Lund, Sweden. What started out as a small coffee shop inspired by both Italian coffee culture and American coffeehouse tradition, is now the largest chain of coffee shops in the Nordic region, with more than 450 coffee shops in five countries: Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Germany.
