Visit the Royal Copenhagen Outlet, where you will find a wide selection of second-quality items in their popular hand-painted and white collections, including Blue Fluted Plain, Blue Fluted Mega, Princess, White Fluted, HAV and many more. Second-quality items are always priced at least 30% below the recommended retail price of first-quality items, and you can often find additional discounts on special offers. Please note that Royal Copenhagen stores do not carry the full range of patterns in second quality, but new items are continually added.
What is Royal Copenhagen Second Quality?
Royal Copenhagen’s porcelain products undergo a rigorous quality control to meet the standards required for first quality. The stringent quality standards mean that items with even minor imperfections or deviations, which are often not noticeable, are sorted out and classified as second quality. You can always identify a second-quality item by feeling for a scratch in the glaze over the three waves on the bottom of the product.
Minor iron spots in black, brown, or blue may be present on the front of the product, and small iron spots may also be found on the back. Slight irregularities that do not cause the item to wobble on the table may occur. The deviations are never significant enough to affect the item’s functionality.
